WELCOME TO THE RSFP INITIATIVE
This site is designed to give fans of Rod Serling and 'The Twilight Zone' an inside look at the development of the Rod Serling Film Project. Our mission is to spread the word about the film and take The Initiative nationwide to bring awareness of the infinite and wonderous possibilities of a feature film about legendary writer/host Rod Serling and his classic television show. The RSFPI wants to allow everyone to have insight into the films creation and follow along with every step of the process. Rod was perhaps the most prolific writer in television and had a hand in creating the medium during the Golden Age of Television. Rod's life was very interesting from beginning to end as you can view in his biography. His experiences from childhood in a picture perfect small town to the horrors of World War II; meeting his wife at Antioch College in Ohio to being a struggling radio writer and aspiring TV writer in Cincinnati; to making it big in New York during the Golden Age where he had to deal with constant network censorship; creating 'The Twilight Zone' to convey messages that sponsors wouldn't allow on the tube and his ironic twilight years where he struggled to recapture his faded glory and find his place in the world. These events and many more are all aspects of his life that create one amazing story and one day soon an incredible movie experience.
My name is James Stoliker, creator of the Rod Serling Film Project and my plan is to bring the story of Rods life to the silver screen. I have spent the last year and a half working on the screenplay. The process started with doing relentless research to find out who he really was deep inside and meticulously examining every detail of his life and work, all in an effort to construct the script of his life with a unique vision and original style. Our intentions with this site are to gain support and create excitement for the project and to find the right team to bring the film to life and to continue the legacy of Rod Serling. Please join The Initiative, explore the site and learn more about the man and the cause. Take The Initiative, fuel the momentum, watch the evolution.
The Script
Of the many interesting features on the site to explore, start with the first ten pages of the fascinating script. It is posted here to give everyone a preview of the vision I wish to share with the world. I will periodically post portions of the script on here to share even more of my vision of Serling's amazing story. I have sent the script and outlines to several representatives in the industry and have recieved nothing but great feedback thus far. If you are a producer or agent who is interested in reading the entire script please contact The Initiative to see what all the buzz is about. The goal with this site is to spread awareness of the script and the site itself and to get Rod's fans on board with The Initiative. I will document every step of the process up until the films premiere to keep you all updated and to give everyone a behind the scenes look at the evolution of the Rod Serling Film Project. If you are interested in Serling and seeing this film made, I urge you to read the beginning of the script and become a member of the site. If you want to read more of the story check out more excerpts in the Synopsis section. Also, if you email the link to this site to twenty people (along with myself at jstoliker@aol.com for verification) I will then personally email you the next ten pages of the script that I have crafted. Over time, I will give other tasks and goals to members and share more of the screenplay.
The Locations
Check out many of the locations where the film will take place. The majority of our focus on the site is on the scenes in the script Rod spends in Ohio. Serling spent several years in Yellow Springs, Ohio and Cincinnati, Ohio throughout the late 1940's to the 1960's. Serling was originally a student at Antioch College in the '40's, which is where he had several milestones in his young life. He later returned on a break from Hollywood in the '60's in an attempt to reconnect with himself and his family. The Serlings moved from Yellow Springs to southern Ohio after their graduation in 1950 in order to embark on his new career. It is in these places that Rod set the foundation for the rest of his life and career. Click here to discover more information on his times here and compare the scenes from rare photographs from the Antioch College as well as pictures The Initiative took on recent trip to the areas.

TAKE THE INITIATIVE
The time is now and the evolution is here. The details of Rod Serlings life are fascinating and limitless. The scope of his experiences are interesting and entertaining, emotional and inspiring, uplifting yet tragic at the same time. The ability to showcase his life and pay tribute to his work, most notably 'The Twilight Zone' is truly a most incredible concept. Rod is deserving of having his story told, not just to his fans and admirers but to everyone else who doesn't realize the impact that his work has had on generations since, lasting still to writers and producers today. Movies have been made about numerous less deserving artists and celebrities, ranging from Howard Hughes, Selena, Bobby Fischer, John Nash, Charlie Chaplin, Bob Crane, Edward R. Murrow (A Serling associate) and not to mention ED WOOD!! Really, a film about Ed Wood but nothing except a PBS documentary on Serling (you may thinking who is Ed Wood? but it's an entertaining film by Tim Burton about 'the worst filmmaker of all time' played by possible on screen Rod actor Johnny Depp.) Those are just a few examples and their are countless more you could add. Even if his life isn't the focus of peoples interest in the film, they will be able to see dozens of the classic episodes of 'The Twilight Zone' brought back to life and interwoven together like never before. Take the Initiative, tell people about the site, send links, do whatever you have to do just get the word out and watch a motion picture evolve right before your eyes. I will keep track of every step of the process from inception to the films premiere to give you an insiders guide and account of the development of the film. There's a signpost up ahead, next stop-the Rod Serling Film Project Initiative Zone.
